This is a Series 900 spiral balance for tilt-in windows. It moderates the operation of your window sash to allow the window to stay open when raised.
The strength you need should be indicated as a color tip at the end of your old metal tube. If you do not see a color tip weigh your sash on a scale and refer to the chart in the images above.
The metal tube measures 3/8" in diameter and houses an internal spiral rod with double pins.
Can work for either the left or right side of the window interchangeably.
Spiral window balances come fully lubricated and ready to be charged.
Good Idea!
Balances are sold individually, however, it is a good idea to replace both window balances at the same time. Pairing a new balance with an old one would cause the new balance to wear out faster.
